Volunteer Opportunities

for students

Volunteering is a great way to serve your community, meet new people, and gain valuable life experience.  We have gathered several resources to help you get plugged in to a volunteering opportunity. These are only several suggestions. Be creative and don't limit yourself to the items listed on this page. If you find out about a great opportunity why not share! Email rmadmin@pscstark.com with all the details.

Do Something
www.dosomething.org
You have a lot of ideas about how you'd like to change the world or at least you have a lot of questions and concerns and you're looking for specific things you can do. We're giving you a place to connect, a place to be inspired, be supported, be celebrated. The only question is, "What's your something?"

There are tons of ways you can do something! You can volunteer with existing programs by entering your zip code and finding something near you right now. You can get involved with a club at your school or, if your school doesn't have a Do Something Club, you can create one! You can choose a cause that matters to you and do something to change it! Or, you can inspire other people by being an active voice on our message boards

American Red Cross
www.stark.redcross.org
The American Red Cross is here to help those affected by disasters.  Most people are now familiar with how the American Red Cross helps those affected by major disasters (like Hurricane Katrina), but many are unaware of how the American Red Cross helps those affected right in our own back-yard.

Each year the American Red Cross Stark County Chapter responds to over 70 local disaster events.  These are disasters that range from single family house fires to opening shelters for the Ice Storms that may occur during the  winter.

The Volunteer Department offers a wide variety of opportunities through the services profiled throughout the website. Volunteers are also needed to sew with our sewing group, or at home, work as a front desk receptionist, assist with special projects, mailings, blood pressure readings, and specific assignments designed for youth volunteers.
