Character

what is it?

What is character?

Character is the true heart of a person. It is who they are when they are alone. Character can be hard to determine because is is partially hidden from others.

You can think about character in this way.
Imagine that someone was in a store and the cashier gave them too much money back. Since they are alone, no one would know if they kept it or returned it.

A person of good character:

  • would return the money.
  • would do the same thing with their friends and by themselves.
  • wouldn't change their behavior just because somebody is watching them.

Since you can’t see character the way that you see a person’s eye or hair color, you have to determine if the person that you are interested in has “good character” by paying attention to how they act.

A person with good character has the traits below most of  time.

Traits of good character

  • Trustworthy         Honest and reliable.
  • Responsible          Having self-control.
  • Fairness               They share; they take turns.
  • Caring                  Helpful, and concerned for many
  • Citizenship           Being a part of a school, group or community.

It takes time to see a person's character.

If you want to know more, ask them some character  questions!
